At Sky Meadow Counseling and Wellness, we’ve created a confidential and supportive space where you can feel comfortable opening up. Your first step with us is a comprehensive intake assessment, allowing us to understand your unique needs.
From there, we’ll work together to build a personalized treatment plan and decide on a session schedule that's right for you. This is a collaborative journey. While we'll guide you, you are always in control of the pace in this safe and non-judgmental environment.
We provide counseling services for clients ages 10 and up. Naturopathic medicine is available for all ages, including infants.
Naturopathic medicine is a path to lasting wellness. It's a holistic approach that honors your body's incredible ability to heal itself. Our naturopathic doctors use natural and effective therapies—like personalized nutrient therapy and herbal medicine—to understand and address the root cause of your health concerns.
We'll work with you to develop a plan that promotes prevention and vitality, empowering you with the tools you need to achieve true health for your mind, body, and soul.
Individual therapy is tailored to each client's needs and presentation.
Utilizing the strengths that you bring to therapy, with the development of new coping skills, we aim to decrease distress and optimize your functioning and enjoyment in life.
Changes within a family often time can bring out conflict or difficulties that you do not have to navigate alone. Our therapists will help you address the behaviors of all family members and the way these behaviors affect not only individual family members but also relationships between members and the family unit as a whole.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. EMDR therapy doesn’t require talking in detail about a distressing issue. EMDR instead focuses on changing the emotions, thoughts or behaviors that result from a distressing experience (trauma). This allows your brain to resume a natural healing process.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. CBT helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.
The process typically involves gently stroking or "havening" specific areas of the body (like the arms, face, or hands) while the individual focuses on a distressing memory or emotion. The goal is to help the brain release the negative emotional charge attached to the memory or trigger, thus reducing its impact on the person’s mental state.
The technique is thought to work by stimulating certain sensory neurons in the body, leading to a change in the brain’s neurochemistry. The physical touch, along with visualization or verbal techniques, can help the brain to process and "de-activate" troubling memories or emotions, creating a sense of calm and well-being.
Havening is often used in therapy to treat PTSD, phobias, anxiety disorders, and emotional trauma. It's seen as a gentle and non-invasive approach that can be effective for a wide range of emotional issues.
