LUMEBOX 2.0 Red Light Therapy Rental

What is Red Light Therapy?

How does Red Light Therapy Work?

How does Red Light Therapy Work?

Red light therapy (RLT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses low-level wavelengths of red or near-infrared light to stimulate natural healing processes in the body. The LUMEBOX delivers both Red (660nm) and Near Infrared (850nm wavelengths simultaneously from each bulb for maximum benefit.

  • Immune support: Some studies suggest RLT may boost white blood cell activity, helping the body fight infections.
  • Inflammation control: Can calm chronic inflammation, which is linked to many illnesses.
  • Fatigue relief: May improve mitochondrial function, which helps with energy and recovery when you’re run down.
  • Respiratory health: Early research shows possible benefits in reducing inflammation in the lungs (helpful in conditions like asthma or post-viral recovery).
  • Mood support: Can improve sleep and reduce seasonal affective disorder (SAD), which often worsens when you’re sick.

How does Red Light Therapy Work?

The light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the cells, especially the mitochondria (the “powerhouse” of the cell). This boosts energy production (ATP), which helps cells repair and function better.

Both red light at 660nm and near infrared light at 850nm have been shown to enhance cellular function.

The primary difference is that NIR has been shown to penetrate deeper than red light.

Because of this:

  • Red light is better for skin issues
  • NIR is better for deeper tissues like muscle and joints.

If you are unsure if you should use NIR or red light, LumeBox recommends using the combined mode with both NIR + Red.
